Applying for Services from MMLS
Applicants for services must complete an over-the-phone application to determine eligibility and whether the case is one MMLS will accept.
Applications are completed Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Applicants should contact MMLS at (573) 442-0116 or (573) 634-4545 or (800) 568-4931 to speak to a staff person regarding their legal issue.
The phone application takes about 15 minutes to complete, but may take longer for complicated legal matters.

Individuals seeking legal services must complete an application to determine eligibility and whether the case is one MMLS will accept. If you need interpreter services to complete an application, you can call and make a request for non-English or sign language interpreter services.
You can complete an application over the phone by calling 573-442-0116 or 800-568-4391. MMLS receives a high volume of calls. Please be prepared to share information about your household income and assets as a part of your application. If you have been served with a summons for court, please be prepared to share the information in the summons, such as court date and who filed the lawsuit.
Now you can apply for help online! Fill out the online application in English. Please call if you need an interpreter. We cannot accept every case. After you complete your application, Mid-Missouri Legal Services will review your information and decide if you are eligible to receive legal services. You will schedule a follow-up call at the end of the application. Services are subject to available resources and staff.
